Milandi Mahasin Madiba

Master Somaticist | Facilitator | Somatic Consultant
Your body is always responding. Your relationships with yourself and others follow.

Stress. Pain. Disconnection. Conflict. Overwhelm. Sometimes the problem is not that something is wrong with you. Sometimes your body is responding intelligently to the conditions around you.

I am Milandi Mahasin Madiba, a Master Somaticist, facilitator, multidisciplinary artist, and consultant with more than 22 years of experience working at the intersection of body, movement, relationship, environment, and human well-being.

My work begins with a simple understanding: there is nothing inherently wrong with you.

Together, we explore what you are sensing, feeling, and responding to—and what your body may need to experience greater comfort, connection, possibility, and vitality.

How I Can Help

I work with people who want to develop a deeper relationship with themselves, their bodies, their environments, and one another. Our work may support you in:

  • Understanding stress, tension, discomfort, or overwhelm
  • Developing greater body awareness
  • Exploring movement as a source of information and possibility
  • Feeling more connected to yourself
  • Understanding how your environment affects your well-being
  • Navigating relationships and communication
  • Exploring boundaries, consent, and physical autonomy
  • Reconnecting with pleasure, joy, and vitality
  • Exploring individual or collective patterns and conflict
  • Discovering what conditions genuinely support your well-being

I do not approach you as someone who needs to be fixed. I approach our work with curiosity, attention, and respect for the intelligence of your living body.

What Sessions Are Like

Sessions are collaborative, responsive, and individualized. Depending on what is relevant to you, our work may include conversation, sensing, movement, breath awareness, attention to your surroundings, relational exercises, creative exploration, or simply taking time to notice what is happening in the present moment.

My work is grounded in sensing, feeling, and action. Rather than beginning with a predetermined formula, we begin with what is actually happening for you.

When appropriate, I also facilitate sessions outdoors and in natural environments. Nature can offer important opportunities for movement, sensing, spaciousness, and connection.

My Approach

Somatic work recognizes that our experiences are not limited to thoughts alone. Our bodies are continually responding to our relationships, histories, environments, movement patterns, sounds, physical surroundings, and daily conditions. The emotions, mind, and relationships follow.

This means that sometimes greater well-being begins not with trying harder to change yourself, but with asking different questions:

  • What am I sensing?
  • What is my body responding to?
  • What do I actually need?
  • What conditions help me feel well?
  • What becomes possible when I tune in?

These questions can open new possibilities for how we live.

Areas of Focus

Somatic Awareness: Developing greater awareness of sensation, movement, physical responses, and the ways your body communicates information.
Movement and Embodiment: Exploring movement as a way of learning about yourself and expanding possibilities.
Stress and Environmental Overwhelm: Understanding how sound, physical spaces, air, surroundings, and other environmental conditions may affect your experience.
Relationships and Communication: Supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups in developing greater awareness, communication, witnessing, and mutual support.
Body and Environment: Exploring the relationship between your physical body and the spaces, systems, and environments in which you live.
Boundaries and Consent: Developing greater awareness of your needs, boundaries, physical autonomy, and communication.
Individual and Collective Well-Being: Recognizing that our individual experiences are connected to our relationships, communities, environments, and larger social conditions.

A Note About My Practice:
My work is somatic consulting and facilitation. I support clients through body awareness, movement, sensing, relationship, environment, and other embodied practices. Somatic consulting is not a substitute for medical, psychological, psychiatric, or emergency care when those services are needed, but it can mitigate challenges which, detected in time, can prevent those services.
